To improve capacity and reliability of power sections in oil-base muds and at high temperatures, Radius-Service produces power sections with multiple stator elastomer options.
Studies on how drilling fluids and operational conditions affect stators showed the need to improve both the materials and technologies used in the manufacturing of stators for PDMs.
The stator elastomer is selected depending on the drilling fluid composition and flowing bottom-hole temperature.
For a power section stator with the standard elastomer, the maximum oil content must not be over 10% and the bottom-hole temperature over 120° C.
Complicated drilling conditions such as oil-base muds, high oil content, or elevated bottom-hole temperature, require power sections with improved characteristics that can be achieved through the use of special stator elastomers.
The all-purpose extra-hard multiple stator elastomer, manufactured by a famous foreign company, is resistant to water-base and oil-base muds with the oil content up to 100% and bottom-hole temperature up to 160° С.
